Reader’s Edyn

I always felt like I could do something more than just read. Finally, I have found both a creative outlet and a chance to do something meaningful with my reading. This blog was created in appreciation of and tribute to all of the authors who have brought me joy through their books. These reviews are my way of giving back to authors and providing recognition for the hard work that each one completes every day!

Follow My Book Blog Friday - 4

**Welcome to the Feature & Follow**

If you are new to the #FF fun, Feature & Follow Friday is a blog hop that expands your blog following by a joint effort between bloggers. Feature & Follow Friday is now hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of course and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs!

How does this work? First you leave your name here on this post, then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them “hi” in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!
Now to make this #FF interesting we do a FEATURE blogger. If you are interested in becoming a Feature click on the drop down link (on Parajunkee's site) above FEATURES --> Feature and Follow Hop --> and get on the waiting list! It is also required, that if you participate you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee & Alison Can Read) and the two Feature blogs.

**Parajunkee's Feature – Musings of A Book Lover**

Hi everyone. My name is Kate and I recently started book blogging at the beginning of the year. We were living in England at the time, and I missed big book stores (we lived in a rural area), so I decided to do a book challenge… and that lead to a whole new ‘life’ for me. I have always loved to read, and now I am sharing that love with …whomever will listen/read! GoodReads is also a wonderful thing for me; I call it FB for Book Lovers! It’s nice to go somewhere and see what others are reading and what they are saying about books. Boy, has my TBR pile GROWN!

For a while, my family was wondering if I would read anything other than Historicals. But I do enjoy different types of books: mysteries, contemporary, romance, YA, chick-lit, Regency and Renaissance, some Sci-Fi and Fantasy, and I have recently discovered Steam Punk (Victorian with a Sci-Fi/Fantasy twist – how cool is that!). Please, though, keep your vampires to yourself.

When I am not reading (books or blogs – definitely blogs on books!), I am usually busy working on something – be it dinner, some crochet/knit project, spending time with my husband and/or trying to get in shape (he wants me to join him for a century bike ride in November – don’t know if THAT is going to happen, but it’s fun going out for a leisurely ride in the evenings).

**Allison Can Read's Feature – Pawing Through Books**

My name is Erika, I own the blog Badass Book Reviews. I'm a mom to four children who are seven and under. I started blogging to get my opinion on whatever books I was reading out there to the masses. I didn't realize just HOW many bloggers there are out there! *Waves Hi* I find I like to have fun, blogging allows me to socialize with other readers and more grown-up type people  Talking to kids all day get's old fast, like that commercial where the Mom talks babyish and gibberish at her husband when he comes home from work--I didn't want to be that woman. So, after being a goodreads nerd for over a year, I started a blog. (did I mention I have template ADD?) I think I have found a look I like, but we'll see.

I tend to be snarky --hence the name badass book reviews. I am addicted to Starbucks Peppermint Syrup in my Coffee. I like Dark Chocolate. I mostly read Urban Fantasy, Paranormals, Romantic Suspense and Contemporary Romance, but if it sounds interesting to me, I will read it.

Q:  Many readers/bloggers are also big music fans. Tell us about a few of your favorite bands/singers that we should listen to in 2012.

A:How terrible is it that I am not a huge music fan? I mean, I love listening to music, but I haven't bought a CD or song in forever. I generally just listen to the radio. My husband has always loved country, so I listen to a lot of country. Shelton, Paisley, Lambert, Rascal Flatts - I could list so many. But my love that is from back in the day is NKOTB. Yep, I said it. Didn't see that coming did you? The best part is that since they started touring again, my girlfriends and I have been able to get together once a year and party it up. Otherwise, we are so spread out that we wouldn't see each other. It is so dang fun now since we are older. I love knowing about another concert because I know it will be another amazing night with my friends.

    Here's our #FF post

    Maja @ The Nocturnal Library

  2. Hey Maja,
Thanks so much for stopping by! Hopping over the return the favor now. :)

  3. My mom is very similar. She listens when my dad turns on the radio, but she is more of a book person. Rascal Flatts are one of the better country bands out there.

    New follower ^_^

    Here's mine:

    sinn @ sinnful books

  4. Hey Sinn,
Thanks so much for stopping by! I agree. Rascal Flatts if definitely one of the best. Love them! Hopping back to return the favor in just a sec. :)

  5. Hey, girl!

The blogs scrolling is a simple marquee tag.

Here is a copy of my code (take the * out if you want to use it): <*marquee direction="up" style="color:#99CCFF;">

    Hope that helps!

    sinn @ sinnful books

  6. You rock my socks so hard, Sinn! Thanks very much. I will see if I can figure it out with the limited knowledge that I have concerning html. :) *huggles you*

  7. Hopping through. I was a few years too young for NKOTB. But I loved BSB and NSync.
    My Hop

  8. Hey Alison. Actually, the last concert I went to in June was NKOTBSB in Phoenix. I liked a few BSB songs as well as N'Sync, but never really got into them. However, those guys really impressed me at the concert. Nick especially. Man is he the type that soaks up the attention. It was so much fun!

  9. I don't listen to music very much either!

    New follower :)

  10. @Chrissie - I listen to music when I am driving or cleaning. Otherwise, I usually have my head buried in a book. I find music distracting at times when I am trying to read. Thanks so much for stopping by! Heading to you now. :)

I lurve comments! Say whatever is on your mind; just keep it respectful. I am always game for a conversation. :)
