Interview with Author Arianna Skye

Interview With Author Arianna Skye

Hello my lovelies! So I apologize for not posting this sooner. Internet decided to fritz on me. It was not pretty. Me without internet is a terrible sight to behold! *nods* But YAY! The problem is fixed now and things are looking up. And thanks to the very cool Roxanne at Bewitching Book Tours, I had the opportunity to interview Ms. Arianna Skye. I also reviewed the book she will be telling you all about so you can check that out too. I will leave the link to the review at the end of the post. I really enjoyed the story ~ Book 1 of a new series and I think you will too. So let’s get to it, shall we? It is my pleasure to introduce to you:

**ARIANNA  SKYE**

Here is a little about Ms. Skye:

Arianna Skye is the erotic pen name of paranormal romance author, Sidney Ayers. She loves infusing stories with humor. What would the world be without a little bit of laughter? Arianna writes a plethora of genres, ranging from historical, to paranormal, to contemporary.

A native of Michigan, Arianna still lives in the same town she grew up in. No matter how hard she tries, she just can’t seem to get away. Michigan is in her blood, and she wouldn’t have it any other way.

**INTERVIEW**

Tell us a little about your current release Wings of Desire.
This book is part of the Fey Chronicles series.

Do you have other books that go along with it?
Right now, it’s just the one book. I have plans for three other books in the series. Tentative titles are WINDS OF PASSION, CHAINS OF DESIRE, and DREAMS OF ECSTACY

What is your favorite thing about this book?
I love the blending of Celtic mythology I’ve put in the book.

Your website proclaims you a geek. What is it that makes you so geeky? And how does being geeky help you write your stories?
I’ve worked almost 20 years in the IT and technical support field. I have some stories lined up that involve “geeks” and “nerds.”

Any upcoming projects you would like to tell us about?
I’m currently working on book three in the Demons Unleashed series by my alter ego, Sidney Ayers. It’s the long awaited story of Kalli Corapolous, demoness extraordiaire.

How do you keep in contact with your readers?
I love hearing from you all. You can contact me through both my websites at www.ariannaskye.com and www.sidneyayers.com.

When did you begin your journey as an author and what pulled you in the direction of writing?
I started writing my first “novel” when I was ten. As for romance, I read my first Johanna Lindsey book when I was 15. At the age of 17, I was starting to write my own—a medieval. Even at a young age, I was a master at the infamous purple prose. I remember referring to the heroine’s bits as her “moist haven”. I never laughed my butt off so hard when I rediscovered those handwritten pages a few years back.

Any special quirks or habits when writing?
I drink a concoction that I affectionately call “Liquid Crack.” It’s pretty much just Diet Sundrop or Diet Mountain Dew laced with Crystal Light or Mio.

How do you celebrate when you finish a novel?
I go into a deep week long coma. Okay, maybe not a coma, but there is a lot of sleep.

What are you reading now? Any favorites you tend to go back to?
Lately, I’ve been reading a lot of non-fiction writing and self-publishing books. As for fiction, I’m always a sucker for a good paranormal or historical romance.

Was there something in particular that gave you the idea for this book (series)?
This book was brainstormed over ten years ago while I was deep in my techno geek heyday. I was sitting in a chat room one night when a storm started to roll in. I thought about writing a book about a woman using a Greek goddess screen name getting struck by lightning and time traveling to ancient Greece because some people were trying to summon a goddess.  I was contemplating writing an erotic romance when my muse reminded me of this story. I then decided she wasn’t a greek goddess, but Celtic. However, my muse informed me she should be a faerie instead. Silly story, huh?

Any advice you’d like to share for aspiring writers?
Keep writing. The more you write, the better you hone your craft. I’ve written four books and I still find something new.

If you could travel back in time, where would you go and who would you meet?
Marie Antoinette. I think her life and story is often misinterpreted and I’d like to know the truth.

Do you have any other hobbies or interests besides writing?
Besides computers, I love arts and crafts. I’ve even found a way to combine the two.

Salty or Sweet?
I love mixing the two.

Alcoholic or Non-alcoholic?
Depends on the type of alcohol and the occasion. Lately, I’ve noticed that wine tends to make me very sleepy. Not a good mix when you’re trying to write a book.

What is your favorite drink?
The aforementioned “Liquid Crack.”

What is your favorite holiday?
Independence day. I’m sort of a pyromaniac and love lighting off fireworks.

Favorite place you have ever visited?
Washington DC. Great place to learn about American History and most the museums are free.

Do you have a favorite inspirational quote?
Write what you love… love what you write, otherwise no one else will either!

Boxers or briefs?
Boxers. Years of watching my dad walk around in briefs has left me scarred for life.

E-reader or Paperback?
I will read either or. I am not a book snob.

Long hair or short hair on a guy?
I’ve always been a sucker for a long haired guy. But anything longer than their shoulders is overkill.

Do you have any hidden talents?
I can touch the tip of my tongue to my nose. You didn’t say it had to be a useful talent :)

Caffeine or Decaf?
Caffeine!!!!! I’m pretty much addicted.

Favorite midnight snack?
Bread and butter.

Almond Joy or Mounds?
Sometimes I feel like a nut, sometimes I don’t. :)

Flowers or chocolate?
Chocolate, that way I can share the yummy goodness.

Urban Fantasy or Paranormal Romance?
I prefer the quick happy ever after, so I am more of a paranormal romance gal.

Favorite meal?
Spaghetti and meatballs. It has to have meat, otherwise it’s just Marinara. :)

Tell us one random piece of information that you could have lived your whole life without ever knowing?
Anything having to do with algebra. I don’t think I’ve used a bit of anything I learned in those classes yet.

**EXTRA FUN**
I’ve now started some FUN and Wacky questions for those interviewed on my site. Try your hand at some if you’re making up an interview!  ~~ Arianna Skye
Examples:
Have you ever gone out in public with your shirt on backwards, or your slippers on, and when realizing it, just said screw it?
I have put my shirt on backwards before, but I snuck into the restroom and quickly adjusted myself. What can I say, I’m paranoid like that.

Do you prefer fuzzy or tube socks?
I  don’t have a preference, just that they don’t have holes.

Are you a person who makes their bed in the morning, or do you not see much point?
Why make a bed if all you’re going to do is climb back into it later anyway?

Be honest, how often do you wash your hair?
Every other day.

Do you get road rage? What pisses you off the most about other drivers?
I will admit I’ve flashed the bird a few times in my life. My pet peeve is people who drive below the minimum speed limit on the expressway. Hello, what part of express do you not understand?

Do you go out of your way to kill bugs? Are there any that make
you screech and hide?
It depends on what kind of bug. If it’s an annoying fly that just won’t leave me alone or a spider that just decided to drop in for a visit, then I will swat it. If it’s a grasshopper or a lady bug, I will usually let it live. I’m deathly afraid of bees, hornets and wasps. I’ve done my fair share of screaming when dealing with them.

Have you ever secretly wished you were a character in a book? If so, which character did you wish you were and why?
Who hasn’t ever wished they were Scarlett O’Hara? She’s a strong character who overcame a lot. You can see her mature as the story progresses. I always wanted to run after Rhett and give them their happily ever after.

**EXCERPT**
(adult content)

Cerne caught her hand in his and gave her a heated gaze. "I didn't want to resort to this,” he said, his voice thick and heady. "But I've run out of options.” He pulled her against his hard-muscled body. With his thumb and forefinger, he lifted her chin.

Clenching her fists, she bit her lip. Tingling numbness filled her every pore. She attempted to pull herself from his embrace, but her body wouldn’t cooperate.
"Let me go! You're frightening me."

"It's for your own good and the good of your people, my sweet.” He traced a finger lightly over her lips. "Soon you'll understand.” He lowered his lips to hers and gently nibbled. Coaxing her mouth open, his tongue swirled with hungry strokes along hers.

She moaned softly as her traitorous tongue danced with his. Lessening his grip on her arm, he allowed her to press closer and rub her bikini-clad breasts against the hard ridges of his chest. Her nipples pebbled against the spandex of her swim top.

Stupid nipples.

She twisted her fingers in his dark mane, pulling him closer. Heedless of what she knew was right, she intensified the kiss. He hoisted her up onto his lap, letting her straddle the rock-hard erection that filled his trousers. Grinding her hips against his, she reached down to unfasten and untie the garment.

He pulled her hands away. "No, leannan. I just want to kiss. The joining must occur at Beltane—in Fey.”

"I'm not going to Fey—”

He reclaimed her lips. Intoxicating warmth spread throughout her body while he licked, sucked and nibbled. She gasped in pleasure and let his tongue probe the cavern of her mouth again. Light as a feather, she sighed in deep contentment. By God, was she floating? Closing her eyes, Rhiannon allowed him have his way with her.

"I'm sorry,” he breathed against her lips. "It was the only way.”

"What—” Her eyes flickered as spots danced before them until darkness took over.
