Reader’s Edyn

I always felt like I could do something more than just read. Finally, I have found both a creative outlet and a chance to do something meaningful with my reading. This blog was created in appreciation of and tribute to all of the authors who have brought me joy through their books. These reviews are my way of giving back to authors and providing recognition for the hard work that each one completes every day!

Guest Post: SEDUCED by Taryn Elliott & Cari Quinn

**MAKE UP POST ~ ENTRY 8**
**Double Author Spotlight**
**Seduced by Taryn Elliott and Cari Quinn

ZOMG! I have missed you all so much! I cannot even begin to describe how much I have missed all of this … the blog, reading, reviewing … EVERYTHING!!! I though the best way to mark my come back would be to make good on several posts that I missed when everything seemed to go downhill. I had every intention of getting these posts up, but life interfered big time and I feel like I should honor my word, even if it is rather late in the delivery. Sometimes posting information from several months back can be a bit tricky because sometimes the information changes. Covers may change, and book may have been re-released, a new publisher may come into play … basically a lot can happen in a matter of months. I believe that I have correct information in all of these posts, but if I missed anything, feel free to shoot me a note and I will be more than happy to update. With that said, these books and authors have waited far too long for their spotlights on the blog, so let’s get started. Without further delay, please allow me to introduce to the blog, ONCE AGAIN:

**TARYN ELLIOTT**

**BIO**

She’s from the great state of New York--upstate NY…you know, above NYC by about three hours. Her family consists of a brother who takes care of keeping the snarky side of her alive and a dog that is more spoiled child than mutt. Her writer-friends are the glue that keeps her crazy ideas more in the sane category, and her non-writerly friends are the reason she’s not a complete hermit. She can't go a day without laughing and truly does fall in love with each and every one of her leading men as she writes their book. Music is life and every story has its own soundtrack.

**CARI QUINN**

**BIO**

USA Today bestselling author Cari Quinn wrote her first story—a bible parable—in 2nd grade, much to the delight of the nuns at her Catholic school. Once she saw the warm reception that first tale garnered, she was hooked. Now she gets to pen sexy romances for a living and routinely counts her lucky stars. When she’s not scribbling furiously, she can usually be found watching men’s college basketball, playing her music way too loud or causing trouble. Sometimes simultaneously.

**Part 1**

“I don’t know why I’m crying.”  Jazz shook her head, her sobs leaving her throat on shuddery gasps. “I can handle fuckers like them. I have before, so many times. But they caught me off-guard, and they grabbed me from behind. That always reminds me of…God, it reminds me.” She stopped there, shuddering.

Of what? Nick almost asked, then decided it wasn’t his business. She wasn’t. Even if the idea of anyone touching her like that—sneaking up on her from behind—scorched through his show nerves and left his muscles quivering for a whole new reason. He wanted blood.

Tucking it away, Nick wrapped his arm around her shoulders and lowered his face to her hair. She was shivering so violently her jaw kept clicking. “Hey, hey,” he murmured, stroking all those wild curls he hadn’t been able to get out of his mind. She sparkled, even in the dark. “It’s okay. You’re okay. They’re gone.”

She only shivered harder. “They didn’t have any right to t…touch me,” she said through clenched teeth. “I told them no and they did it anyway. I said no.”

“I know you did. I heard you, loud and clear.” Nick took a risk and touched her cheek, tilting her heart-shaped face upward. Her cheeks were sheened with moisture. Even her lips were trembling. His heart lurched again. “Hey, look at me. Jazz.” It felt weird to call her that, when he found himself calling her Jasmine more often than not. How could he resist when she’d tossed such an irresistible opening line at him? He was an asshole, and she was as beautiful and delicate as jasmine. Too delicate for a bastard like him. “Jazz, look here.”

Her eyes stayed resolutely closed. “It’s…Jasmine to you, asshole.”

Just like that, he knew she was okay. That she’d faced worse in the past and survived. Survivors came in all kinds of packages. Sparkles or grime, giggles or growls.

Chuckling, he stroked his fingertips along her jaw. Lightly, to give her something to focus on. And maybe to satisfy his curiosity if her skin would feel as satiny as it looked.

Knowing that it did didn’t exactly give him comfort.

Her big eyes flashed open and locked on his, and he let out a long breath at the punch of awareness. What the hell was it about this girl that worked him over so thoroughly?

**GUEST POST**
**Taryn Elliott**

Hi Kendra! Thanks so much for being one of the stops on the SEDUCED tour.  Long time no see!
Cari Quinn and I have started an ultra-sexy NA Rock Star series. We do love our rock star boys. And when we started talking a little too seriously about actually writing together we couldn’t help but stray into the rock star books. We do love us some bad-boy rock stars.
The only problem?
There’s a butt-load of them out there lately!! So we had to find a way to be a little different.
One of the first things Cari and I bonded over—besides Nora Roberts—was music. We love it!! Can’t live without it. Truly—no joke. And our tastes are about as eclectic as the music section in a record store. But more often than not our tastes overlap. And one of those places is rock.
Cari may stray more into the 70’s rock than my 80’s love…but we’ve found that we truly love both to distraction. The angst and dirty style of the 70’s mixes well with the slick 80’s and has truly become what the music scene is NOW.
And so Oblivion was born.
But instead of making them already famous like so many stories do—we went for an origin story. And one that’s not exactly all that pretty. We love all that angsty in-fighting and trying to find where a character belongs. Add in a little lust both in the bedroom and lust for fame and we came up with something pretty great.
At least we hope so.
SEDUCED is an introduction to the band. It’s the romance of a band. Finding the right chemistry between people that will be putting together something as intimate as words and music isn’t easy. And man, when you find it—you want to hold onto it.
Right?
What about when pride and loyalty twists up that lust for a record deal and starts breaking down the chemistry?  How do you get back on track when you know that something you started with isn’t what you need? And what you’ve found with two people that were supposed to be a temporary replacement actually is the perfect fit?
Do you change or do you drown in loyalty for something that wasn’t ever meant to be?
That’s what the story of SEDUCED is about.
Once we get that one relationship out of the way THEN we’ll let them fall in love.
Maybe.
Look for ROCKED at the end of October to see if love and fame can go hand in hand. Deacon McCoy—the bassist for Oblivion—believes it. But convincing Harper Pruitt of that might be the hardest fight he’s fought yet.

That was an awesome explanation! I look forward to future works. And if you see, ROCKED, you will notice that included a link to that book as well. How about we leave with another excerpt from the book? Yeah. I thought so!

**Part 2**

Nick stabbed his fingers into the mile-high bun Jazz had fixed on top of her head, wrecking the orderly curls, tearing them down while his tongue plunged between her lips. She moaned, loud and sharp, not tempering the sound. And he feasted on it, on her, sucking on her tongue, nipping her lips, swallowing that same grape-sweet taste she’d tormented him with before.

“Want me to go down on you?” he whispered between kisses. It wasn’t an offer he made often, though he had a feeling she’d be the exception to all of his rules.

She shook her head, hard and definite. “No. Just fingers. Please. Like last time.”

They didn’t speak after that. Didn’t do a damn thing except kiss and touch and pant hotly into each other’s mouths. Just like last time, she stroked his cock like she was manipulating her drumsticks. Up, down, up, down, squeezing, letting go. Over and over until he shoved her back against the wall and pushed his hand under her skirt. All he could think about was getting inside her.

She wore panties tonight, tiny frilly ones, and he ripped them aside and surged his fingers deep. She threw her head back, banging her skull. He pulled out and rubbed her piercing, amazed all over again that such perfection existed in his world. The memory of those pink crystals around her taut little clit could take him straight to heaven. But he wouldn’t go alone.

He spent extra time toying with the studs, testing her reactions to each flick and flutter. Building the urgency between them until they both trembled like plucked strings. Then he was playing her flesh like she’d played him and all he could hear were her ragged gasps, each of them ending on a single plea.

More.

More.

God, give me more.

She came in a pulsing gush against his palm, and he groaned as he dropped his forehead into the crook of her neck. Her brown sugar scent and the smell of her arousal wrapped around him, constricting his lungs, blocking his airflow. Then she dropped to her knees again and pulled down his zipper, taking him out so fast he couldn’t do more than pant his gratitude. Her lips closed around the head of his dick and he fisted his hands against the wall, one of them still soaked from her, lost to the sensation of her wet silky mouth riding up and down his length.

It didn’t take long. She remembered what he liked, and he’d been primed for the past week. He hadn’t let himself come on his own, knowing he’d see her behind his eyes. She’d be the cause of his orgasm even if he was all alone. So he’d held back, held off, somehow knowing they’d end up in this place again. His own touch would never be a decent substitute when he could have her.

At least he had her right now.
