Post & GIVEAWAY with author J.N Johnson
Hey
everyone. We are back with another post for today and still more to
come. :) This particular post is a bit of fun with author J. N
Johnson. She talks about how opposites attract, how this common
phenomenon relates to her real life, and how real life inspires the
stories that she writes. I always enjoy characters that have
differences because it seems to always add another level to the
story. And so, I was intrigued by the idea of this story when I read
about it. Also, it is a novella and part of the Clearwater series, so
it would be a quick read that could give you a taste of Ms. Johnson
if you have yet to experience her work. I am looking forward to this
blogging fun, so I will get started. Please allow me to introduce to
the blog:

**BIO**
Living in her
hometown of Charleston, West Virginia, JN Johnson is the proud mother
of two beautiful little girls and is married to her high school
sweetheart (and greatest supporter ) whom she considers the rock that
keeps her grounded.
She
was first introduced to the world of fantasy when she was seven years
old reading The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe making her never
want to read about “the real world” again. Her mother and
grandmother’s love of romance novels gave her the opportunity to
learn about book trading, taking all of their old books to the local
flea market to trade for anything that sparked her interest. Those
days are long gone; her books now stay safely on her book shelves at
home and out of harm’s way.

Caleb
Myers watched as his sister and brother-in-law, Joshua, drove away
from Clearwater for a much needed vacation, leaving him to housesit,
and take care of the family business. The idea of a long weekend of
peace and quiet at their country cabin turned out to be a short-lived
dream when a phone call from his employee at Winter Lilly’s
Outfitters brings news of an unwanted visitor. Riley Campbell wants
nothing more out of life than to impress the pig-headed bosses who
like to use her as client eye candy at her Houston law firm, and put
her career on the fast track for partner. Nothing made her happier
than legal battles and paper pushing, but when she is sent miles from
her normal city life, and thrown into the country setting of
Clearwater, Wyoming, she fears she may have met her match. With an
offer in hand to buy Winter Lilly’s Outfitters, Riley tries to
convince Caleb to take the deal, but his good ole boy ways, country
charms, and fierce loyalty leaves her wanting more than just his name
on the dotted line. Can two people from opposite worlds come together
under such an Unwanted Proposal?

**Opposites
Attract**
First off let me just say that I am a bad blogger, my train of thought has a tendency to skip off of the tracks and jump in a whole different direction. With that said I am here to talk about the opposites attract scenario. When I think of opposites attracting I need look no further than my own relationship with my husband. We met when we were seventeen, I was the girl next door who listened to country music and had a tendency to stay home and out of trouble. One day I was volunteering for the Special Olympics (yes I know this is where you add the barf sound or call me a goody-goody) when this cute red head with legs that were so cut you could break a bottle on them came sidling up to me asking for my phone number…for a friend.
I
was intrigued. This guy had the most beautiful blue eyes and pouty
lips I had ever seen but he had the air of a bad boy to him. He had
these cut off jeans and a dark, torn up flannel that should have had
me running in the opposite direction but instead it pulled me in and
I gave up the digits to him, not his friend.
It
ended up that my flannel wearing, grunge looking, lead singer of a
rock band ended up being a total geek. He went on to finish college
with not one but three engineering degrees and a minor in math! I for
one cannot even turn on a computer without a book for dummies. So yes
I do believe opposites attract and twenty years and two kids later we
are still happily in love! He is my electron to my moron.
So
how do opposites attract and work in books and what does my love life
have to do with any of it? Well it’s where I get my inspiration
from for a lot of my leading characters. In Unwanted Proposal Caleb
is the epitome of the good ole country boy who has his heart set on
marrying the girl next door but all of that is put on hold when he
meets Riley.
When
Riley enters the scene and waltzes into his life with the deal of a
lifetime, sale out the family business and live a nice cushy life
reaping the benefits of a hefty pay check, he can’t run fast
enough. It doesn’t take long for the sexual tension to racket up to
the danger zone and you know when it get that hot something fun is
about to happen.
So
here we have two complete opposites, a boy who bleeds country and
drives a monster truck and a girl with blood red lips from the city
and a law degree. Where do you ask is the attraction? Well in my mind
these two are attracted to what the other has. She wants a future
that’s driven to partner and men are not hitchhiking their way onto
her road to success but when Caleb shows her the perks of the small
city life and all it has to offer she has to remap her GPS and decide
which way she wants to go. As for Caleb it takes a little more than
big boobs and brains to change his path. It takes his heart finding
what it truly wants and needs to get his monster truck moving in the
right direction. But just because they are headed down the same
highway doesn’t mean that it’s not a bumpy ride.
