Question:
In light of 11.11.11 and Veteran's Day tell us about your favorite solider and how he or she is saving the world. Fictional or real life.
Answer:
I know several veterans who were soldiers. My great Grandfather Welton Lee, both Grandfathers Ernest St.Clair and Mark Swoverland and my Dad - Paul St. Clair. I do not know much about Pop Lee, or Poppy St.Clair. I know that My Nanny and Poppy Swoverland got married December 18, 1941. Sound familiar? They fast-tracked the wedding because of the bombing of Pearl Harbor and my Poppy getting orders to ship out. My Dad was in the Vietnam War and worked as a mechanic (fixing the planes) on the USS Enterprise. All of these men are and were a huge part of my life. Not only do I appreciate all of them, I appreciate every man and woman that has ever served in order to defend my freedom. Recognize them, tell them you appreciate them. The smallest gestures, sometimes make the biggest impact.

ReplyDeleteHave a happy follow friday! :D
Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you enjoyed yourself! See you soon! ;)
ReplyDeleteSome people have friends and/or family who served or who is serving in the military. Other people aren’t really keen on the long-standing war and really have no answer at all.
ReplyDeleteAs for me? I don’t know anyone who is serving or who has served so I decided to go with what I want and chose a fictional soldier as an answer. The thing is, I had four prime candidates! I did eventually end up with one with a lengthy explanation. Care to know who it is? Follow me back to http://www.howardsherman.net and find out!
In celebration of today’s cool date of 11/11/11 I’m offering a special $11 discount off all my interactive fiction books! Sure I’m a book blogger but I’m also an author. All the details of the $11 off on 11/11/11 is at the bottom of my Follow Friday blog post.
Since I’m posting this kind of late just add 'FF’ to the coupon code and it’ll be valid all weekend long!
Thank God it’s Follow Friday!

Thanks so much for stopping by Grace! I am fairly new to blogging - only in the third month now - but I think I have have come a long way in a short time. As far as my skills, *blushes* I only know what I call "the basics". I still have a lot to learn! But I really appreciate the recognition. People like you make all of this worth it. Thanks very much! :)
