Reader’s Edyn

I always felt like I could do something more than just read. Finally, I have found both a creative outlet and a chance to do something meaningful with my reading. This blog was created in appreciation of and tribute to all of the authors who have brought me joy through their books. These reviews are my way of giving back to authors and providing recognition for the hard work that each one completes every day!

Book Spotlight: The Forsaken Series

Book Spotlight: The Forsaken Series

Good afternoon my lovelies! Sorry I haven’t been around the last few days … I had a family issue that needed to be dealt with and I am just now getting back to blogging life. So to say hello to you all, I thought I would tell you about a series I came across that intrigued me. The books are part of The Forsaken Series and there are a couple of contributing authors I would like to introduce not only to you, but myself.

**The  FORSAKEN  SERIES**

Among us walk immortal beings – cursed to hide within the shadows they live along side us as they have for centuries. Using, feeding, living off the mortals so reviled for their weakness – yet there are some who will be awakened and immortality will be given.
Now, an ancient evil stirs – rising to threaten not only the Immortal Realms but the mortal world. A cursed vampire General stirs, plotting his revenge on those who have forsaken him…but he’s forgotten about the innocent, who like him have been punished.
There are those who are Forsaken.
It could be anyone among us…

The first contributing author to this series is Ms. Elise Whyles ~ here is a bit about her:

I tend to  write a bit edgier genre than my alter ego, Patricia Bates, currently my works include the  Forsaken Series: A dark, fairytale paranormal series featuring vampires, demons,  succubus, and many other mystical creatures.

As well, I'm neck deep in working on the first of what I hope becomes a  trilogy of m/m erotic romances featuring strong, sexy Canadian heros.  So check back regularly to get to know some sexy heros, strong willed heroines, and villians you can love to hate!

The second contributing author to this series is Ciara Lake ~ here is a bit about her:

**CIARA  LAKE**

Reading and writing is a wonderful diversion from an often-difficult world. I love to create my own stories and have control over how things will end. It’s exciting to create brand new worlds and characters. My imagination can come alive.

In sci-fi and paranormal stories, I can invent wonderful places and people. Anything is possible in these genres and that’s limitless. I’m able to create an escape into a special world filled with unique and fantastic things and there is always a happy ending.

A high school teacher inspired me to write. However, instead of initially pursuing my writing career I became a lawyer. I work in divorce court, so erotic romance is a great escape. There can be true love and happy-endings, at least on my pages.

My two children and I have two good-humored dogs that share our home and ease our stress. I have traveled and lived all over the world and these experiences have given me great creative ideas. I look forward to creating many more adventures in romance.

The first book, Forsaken Heart by Elise Whyles is set to release in April 2012. The second book Curse of a Dargon’s Claim  by Ciara Lake will release shortly after.

**FORSAKEN  HEART**

Punished for sins not her own, can a mortal claim her vampire mate?

The world of immortals must unite to save both themselves and the mortals they co-exist with from an ancient evil.

For Bede MacTaggert this means trusting in the warrior sent for her sister—a man of mystery, of power, and one who could easily sweep her into a world she's destined to be part of.

An imperial guard to the king of vampires, Gawain has always tuned out the needs of the flesh. Dedicating himself to the service of the royals, he's lived on the fringes of his people for centuries. Now he's forced from the shadows and into the arms of a woman who will awaken his heart and body to a passion unequaled.

Content Warning: sexy alpha vampire, explicit sex, violence

**CURSE  OF  A  DARGON”S  CLAIM**

The flame within a dragon warrior's heart awakens Arianna's passion as she begins a journey in which she will discover she's something more than she ever imagined possible.

The realm of the dragons is a world of magic, danger, and mystery. For centuries they've been at war with the vampires, but now the two enemies must work together to save all immortals, and the mortals they co-exist with, from an ancient evil. In order to do so, they need the help of the Forsaken, descendants of immortals who were cast out into the human realm, their memories wiped clean of their true heritage.

Clayne MacDagon is a powerful dragon warrior who is sent on a mission to find one of the Forsaken. Although he's told that this woman is his fated mate, he can't believe it could possibly be true. Arianna Mergliano possesses both dragon and vampire blood, and Clayne has an intense hatred for anything even remotely related to vampires, the evil beings who were responsible for his beloved twin's death.

When Arianna meets Clayne, she's convinced that the man is insane, or maybe he's a warlock or even the devil himself, but whichever it is, she wants nothing to do with him.

Clayne knows he can't fail at his mission. And once he meets Arianna he also knows that what he's been told is true—she is, ironically, his intended mate.
Convincing her to accept him is only the beginning. He has to protect her from those who might want her dead. Together, they must face the shadows and evil that have long plagued the immortal realms and find a way to survive the coming war.

Content Warning: graphic sex, some violence

I hope you have enjoyed getting to know about these two talented authors and the book in The Forsaken Series. As always, leave me a comment and let me know what you think about what you have read today and if this series sounds like a good fit for you.

Until next time …
HAPPY  READING!!!
