Guest Post &
GIVEAWAY
with author Michelle McLean
Hello
everyone. Sincere apologies for the late post. I had it scheduled but
for some reason it did not go live when it was supposed to. When I
went in to edit the post, all of my font and size adjustments were
reverted to TNR. It was a mess and had to be completely rewritten. If
anyone happens to know why this occurred, feel free to throw me some
theories. In any case, I am beginning to believe that Blogger has a
mind of its own. Quite aggravating at times. But enough about that …
today I have an awesome post from a terrific author. I asked Ms.
McLean to provide us with some background on her series and she did a
fantastic job for us. The reason for this post is for those of us who
are new to the series. This is book 2 so I thought it would be nice
to catch up just a bit to where the series is now. I am excited to
find out more so I will ramble no longer. Please allow me to
introduce to the blog:

**BIO**
Romance
and non-fiction author Michelle McLean spent 98% of her formative
years with her nose in a book indulging in her love of reading and
research. Expanding that love into writing was inevitable. Michelle
has a B.S. in History, a M.A. in English, and tends to be a bit of an
organized mess with an insatiable love of books and more weird quirks
than you can shake a stick at.
She
is the author of the historical romances To Trust a Thief and the
Blood Blade Sisters trilogy, the non-fiction Homework Helpers: Essays
and Term Papers, and several upcoming historical, paranormal, and
contemporary romances. She is also a contributor on The Naked Hero,
and the Operation Awesome, Scene 13, and Scandalous book blogs as
well as maintaining her personal blog. If she's not editing, reading
or chasing her kids around, she can usually be found in a quiet
corner working on her next book. Michelle resides in PA with her
husband and two young children, an insanely hyper dog, and two very
spoiled cats.

**Blood
Blade Sister Series**
Thanks for hosting me today! Well, since A Bandit’s Broken Heart is the second book in my Blood Blade Sisters series, I thought I’d go ahead and give you a little background on the series, where this book fits in, and a little background on book two’s main character, Brynne.
The
Blood Blade Sisters series follows the Richardson sisters, a trio of
women in post-Gold Rush California who have banded together to help
save their ranch and their town from their half-brother, the corrupt
sheriff of the town. The middle sister, Cilla, assumes the persona of
the bandit Blood Blade, and like Wild West Robin Hoods she, Brynne
and Lucy rob from the corrupt and give the spoils to the poor.
Book
One, A Bandit’s Stolen Heart, sets up the series and
introduces the sisters and their situation. The romance centers on
Cilla and Leo, a city-bred cowboy they accidentally captured during a
routine robbery. Leo helps the sisters in their fight against the
sheriff and he and Cilla go through a couple tough scrapes and
near-death experience or two before they find their happily ever
after.
Book
Three, A Bandit’s Betrayed Heart, will tell Lucy’s story.
Her book is set in the South about a year after the Civil War and
will follow Lucy as she searches for her lost love…and what happens
after she finds him :)
The current release is Book Two in the series, A Bandit’s Broken Heart. This is the eldest sister, Brynne’s, story. After the death of her husband in book one, she takes her young daughter to start a new life in Boston. Only things don’t really turn out as she’d like.
I’ve always thought of Brynne as the most refined of the three sisters. The Meg of the family (to put it in Little Women terms) :) But she’s still a feisty country girl who will fight tooth and nail to protect those she loves. She’s very loyal, level-headed, hard-working, and self-sufficient and is used to being in charge. She can also be rather stubborn :)
Brynne’s a bit of a fish out of water in this book. She’s a little lost, still grieving, not sure what to do with her life or where she belongs. Over the course of the book, she finds herself again. And she finds love again ;-) But she’ll have to beat a few obstacles, including a group of really angry smugglers, before she can reach her happily ever after.
For a little taste of what happens to Brynne, take a peek at the trailer :)
